We have 10 self-contained cottages each comprising of one bedroom, lounge/dining, bathroom, kitchen, utility room and a small veranda. Electricity and water are included in the rental. They have their own garden and a gardener is provided once a week to assist with the upkeep of this. Cottage residents have their main meal in the dining room. Cottages are not serviced but If needed, outside domestic help may be hired at own cost and laundry can be done at an extra cost if required. Residents receive panic buttons to use in case of emergencies and the Sister on duty is available if required.
These nine rooms plus one respite room are near the Nurses Station where the staff take care of all the resident’s personal needs yet maintain their privacy. There is a lovely deck overlooking the garden and easy access to the garden itself. A sun lounge provides a communal space for these folks to watch TV or just enjoy each other’s company.
We have four suites comprising a lounge, bedroom and bathroom. These are for couples who find they are no longer able to cope in a cottage. Two of these suites on the top floor are linked to the main building with an aerial walkway and are wheel chair friendly. These suites are fully serviced including laundry. Residents have all their meals in the dining room
This ward has 5 beds and is under the constant care of the registered nursing staff and care givers who are on duty 24 hours per day. It is a bright and cheerful ward with curtains for privacy when required.
These are divided into 5 wings and are fully serviced including laundry. Some have doors opening onto the garden and residents are encouraged to have a few of their own plants to care for. All meals and teas are provided and the nurses take care of medication where necessary.
